The Life After School Initiative
A strategic intervention initiative designed to equip young minds with competitive soft and transferable skills needed in the 21st-century world of work and business.
Welcome to Life After School Initiative
The transition from formal education to independent adulthood and full workforce participation remains one of the most critical pressure points in Nigeria’s development. Each year, young graduates enter the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) academically qualified, yet underprepared for the realities of independent life and professional decision-making. Our Initiative exists to close that gap—supporting clearer career direction, decision discipline, emotional resilience, and long-term stability.
In strategic collaboration with SPC Patterns Resources Ltd and Bavarde Group LLC (USA).
NYSC Activation & Impact
We partnered with NYSC in 2016 through SAED (Skill Acquisition & Entrepreneurship Development) and have been part of orientation camps across all states in Nigeria—sensitizing corps members on the need to prepare for real life after school and career decisions.
The programme equips corps members with contemporary and relevant skills to unlock innate potential, express themselves productively, and compete in the fast-changing 21st century. It also supports corps members to properly position themselves for limited job opportunities and/or starting their own businesses.
Our engagements have helped corps members decide on future career direction and grow leadership stamina with emphasis on professionalism, best practices, and service delivery.
About Us
A National Bureau of Statistics report (September 2016) revealed that 13.5 million youth of employable age were currently unemployable, highlighting the urgency of practical workforce readiness support.
The Life After School Initiative, established in 2013, is a long-standing youth transition and workforce readiness platform focused on equipping young Nigerians with practical tools for responsible decision-making, resilience, and post-school stability.
Over the years, the program has supported students and corps members at the point where life, career, and wellbeing decisions begin to shape long-term outcomes—helping to reduce uncertainty, encourage healthier life choices, and improve stability over time.
